Notice regarding upcoming Worship Services
Three of our Board members, our two Worship Committee members, and about eight others stayed after worship on Nov. 29th to have a "Group Think". We talked about how we've been appreciating the 2 1/2 months of having in-person worship services again, but whether it was wise to continue at this time.
Within a day, it was announced that the County of Stettler had joined most of the rest of Alberta in the "Enhanced Areas" category of Covid restrictions.
While, officially we are still allowed to have 1/3 of the people normally allowed in for our worship services, we've decided to CANCEL the in-person portion of this Sunday's service and discern our course of action further at our regularly scheduled Board meeting on Tuesday, December 8th @ 7:00 p.m. Please add your prayers to our discernment.
2nd Sunday of Advent ~ December 6/20 ~ An online Worship Service, following the attached Order of Service (pdf) will be offered via our Stettler United Church YouTube Channel (https://www.youtube.
Print versions of the Order of Service, with additional readings, and, hopefully -- by late Friday afternoon, sermon notes -- will be available for pick-up from the table outside the church office as an option as well.
The theme of our Advent Candle Lighting is Peace, and we'll have a paraphrase of Psalm 85 and Mark 1:1-8 as our biblical focus.
May our Advent longings be met with the fullness of God's deep peace.
