Christmas Eve 2020 ~ I'm 63 years old and can count on less than one hand the number of times I haven't been part of a Christmas Eve service. Thus, it feels very different to be depending on the internet to be with my faith community at such a time as this.
I'm thankful to have some people who were willing to add 'local content' as we developed the Order of Worship (attached as pdf).
I hope that will make it seem more familiar as it unfolds on the screen of your computer, IPad or phone.
I hope that you'll ask for help if you or someone you know needs 'tech support' to be included.
I hope you'll light one or many candles and sing heartily in your own home-as-sanctuary-kind-of- space.
I think Bob and I will still come to the church on Christmas Eve to turn on the lights in the sanctuary so the stained glass shines out... light the Christmas tree... put luminaries on the steps... and stand at the doorway holding our candles and singing along with the Christmas hymns.
I hope people walk or drive by and see the church as a beacon of good news as we pray peace on earth, goodwill to all.
With thanks and blessings to/for you all this Christmas,
Jan R.
