May 23/21 ~ Pentecost Sunday worship with Communion. The Season of Easter ends, and Pentecost begins. Pentecost is considered the Birthday of the Church. We celebrate the beginning, and continuation, of a Spirit-led fellowship of those who follow in the name and way of Jesus. Our Bible Readings are from Ezekiel 37:1-14 and the book of Acts chapter 2.
I love these stories of 'coming to life' after death/hopelessness. The prophet Ezekiel asks himself and asks of God: "Can these bones live?" A young child might then ask: "Did God ever answer the question?" And the wise elder replies, "You are the answer. We live -- the people live -- as long as we remember."
