In-Person Worship July 25th @ 10:30 a.m.
Olympics Theme Intertwined in Worship
Refreshments served following the service!
People are invited to wear 'sports attire'... a favorite jersey or team jacket, or, perhaps, something that has the Olympic logo, etc... if you want.
The bible readings are Romans 8:26-39 (Nothing can separate us from the love of God.) and Matthew 13:31-33 & 44-52 (Jesus tells parables for us to imagine God's will done on earth as it is in heaven).
This week we put the desire to better understand 'God's kingdom come' alongside the hope that's held at the centre of the Olympic Games -- that a better world is possible, through disciplined peaceful practices and global human interactions.
A mustard seed — size really doesn’t matter; Yeast — transformed to rise above; Hidden Treasure — joy unspeakable; A Merchant — a valuable treasure; A Net — all-inclusive.
Meditation ~ How can I explain the riches and treasures and delights found when the soul is united to God in prayer? Since in some way we can enjoy heaven on earth, be brave in begging the Lord to give us his grace in that he show us the way and strengthen the soul that it may dig until it finds this hidden treasure. The truth is that the treasure lies within our very selves.~ Teresa of Avila 1515-1582 The Interior Castle
